The IronFreedom Triathlon
Crew Fitness and JH Crossfit are excited to announce the IronFreedom Triathlon, a charity event to take place on August 13 at Crew Fitness. Funds raised during the IronFreedom Tri will benefit the Scott Rigsby Foundation, the official charity sponsor of the Augusta Ironman 70.3. The Scott Rigsby Foundation is an organization dedicated to inspiring and enabling wounded warriors to live an active, healthy lifestyle.
Crew Instructor Stacy Barber and Marine Corporal Chris Montgomery will represent our fitness community in the Augusta Ironman, and they are raising funds and awareness for the Scott Rigsby Foundation. Chris, a Mobile native and fitness enthusiast, lost both of his legs to an IED in Afghanistan, and he is excited to compete in his first IronMan.
The IronFreedom Tri is our opportunity to support Stacy and Chris in this incredible fitness endeavor, as well as to raise funds for the Scott Rigsby Foundation. The event will be a 2K row, 100 kettlebell swings, and a 2K run (1.25 mi). Heats will start at 7:30am and run every 30 minutes. We’ll row at Crew, swing kettlebells right outside, and run through Regency. It’s open to the community, ages 12 and up, and all are welcome!
Entry fee is a minimum $25 donation to Operation IronFreedom, Chris and Stacy’s team for the Augusta IronMan, sponsored by the Scott Rigsby Foundation. These donations will allow veterans like Chris to participate in the Augusta Ironman 70.3, providing for warrior transportation, race fees, race gear, and accommodations.
